I’ve been there, done that… A little bit about me.
Hey, I’m Joana!
Biomedical Scientist, Certified NLP practitioner, Mindfulness Facilitator, and Online Empowerment Coach pursuing my purpose of helping busy, overwhelmed go-getters find their own purpose and create a life that they are proud of with freedom and peace of mind.
I am originally from Portugal, and I’m living in the UK. Initially, having to speak a second language all the time was a major thing for me.
I felt like I needed to be perfect, have no accent at all, and have an amazing vocabulary range. It was exhausting, and by the end of the day, I would just get in bed and skip dinner because I was so burnt out.
I felt like I needed to fit in and blend into the background.
It was only when I stop doing this that I found my true self. Being different is great if you want to leave your mark in this world. To achieve greatness, one must go outside the norm.
But before finding myself and my purpose, I was in a very similar position than you:
- Lost in overwhelm, overthinking and people-pleasing
- Living a life not meant for you (not aligned with your values making you feel like a fraud)
- Lacking confidence and unaware of your own worth
- Being afraid of taking risks (that would get you to your dream life) because of what others might think of you, fear of rejection and failure
- Feeling shame and guilt for wanting more from life!

Having to decide what to study in school and then deciding my degree in University and deciding the section of my profession I’d like to work in was overwhelming! So many decisions that make a huge impact on your life and none of them I felt good and certain about.
I knew I couldn’t be a biomedical scientist working in the lab forever!
Something inside me told me that I had so much more to offer to this world and I could help so many people.
When I decided to start my own coaching business, I had no idea where to start from so I just went by trial and error.
I started with no niche, helping everyone I could think of.
Then I decided I wanted to work with millennials close to burnout, then I moved to the relationships niche helping introverted women only to realize that I was helping them a lot on mindset blocks that they had with self-esteem and self-worth.
So, I decided to pivot it to help busy, driven and ambitious individuals who have perfectionist tendencies and are dealing with overthinking and overwhelm to regain control over their lives and build freedom and peace of mind and a life they can be proud of by reprogramming their
subconscious mind with Neuro-linguistic programming techniques and Mindfulness practices.
I use NLP as it aims to understand the way people organize their thoughts, feelings, language and behaviors in order to get the results they do. It offers people a framework to model brilliant performances achieved by geniuses and leaders in their field.
I mostly apply it to personal development and to get you the life you dream of!
I’ve decided to embrace my uniqueness (weirdness?) and follow my intuition!
It’s so amazing to be your authentic unapologetic self! So peaceful also!
I know what it’s like to dread the alarm clock and the time to get up for another day where you have to pretend you enjoy your life!
